Kalithea, situated 10,5km
south of the city, has a small bay and a abandoned spa complex, built in the 1920s. It is
said that Hippocrates, native of the island of Kos, and father of all physicians,
recommended the healing qualities of Kalithea waters. Today the domed pavilions and
archways stand abandoned and the waters have long-since dried up. Still many people visit
the place for its crystal clear sea waters and magical scenery of the time consumed
buildings, which often attract commercial's producers too.
