You arrive to
Rhodes from Athens after about 55 minutes of flight or after 16 hours if you choose to travel by ferryboat. The island has three airports (only one is currently used for commercial purposes) and three harbors.
The international airport Diagoras (RHO) is at 17km of distance from the city, at the west part of the island, close to the village of
Paradissi. The air schedules vary during the year. In the peak period (May to September), you can expect regular daily flights to and from
Athens, Heraklion Crete, Thessaloniki, Santorini, Mykonos, and Karpathos. In addition there are weekly connections to Kastellorizo and Kassos.
At the same period of year, there are a number of regular international connections with the major European cities,
Israel and Egypt and a large number of chartered flights from all around the world.
A public bus service connects the airport to the city.

The harbor of
Rhodes lies at the northeastern part of the city and is connected with ferry boats, hydrofoils and smaller ships with the neighboring islands of
Simi, Kastelorizzo, Halki, Kos, Karpathos and Kassos. There are also ferry connections with the island of
Crete (Heraklion, Sitia, Agios Nikolaos), Santorini, Samos and daily schedules with the harbor of
Pireus in Athens.
Rhodes is the chosen destination of the biggest and most luxurius cruise ships in the world and it is regularly connected with the island of Cyprus, Turkey and Israel.
