You arrive to Rhodes from Athens Venizelos International Aiport after about 45 minutes of flight. If you choose to travel by ferry boat from the port of Piraeus you will need about 16 j hours. The island has several airports (only one is currently used for commercial purposes) and five ports.

The international airport Diagoras (RHO) is at 16 km of distance from the city, at the west part of the island, close to the village of Paradissi. The air schedules vary greatly during the year. In the peak period (May to September), you can expect regular daily domestic flights to and from Athens, Heraklion Crete, Thessaloniki, Santorini, Mykonos, and Karpathos. In addition there are weekly connections to Kastellorizo and Kassos (Live Rhodes flight arrivals).
At the same period of year, there are a large number of regular international connections with the major European cities and airports, Cyprus and Israel a large number of chartered flights from all around the world.
A public bus service connects the airport to the city several times a day, and a one-way ticket costs approximately 2 euros. The bus stop is located approximately 300 metres to the left of door 1 of the terminal. Journey time is around 40 minutes. The Rhodes Harbor
The main harbor area of the island of Rhodes lies at the northeastern part of the city. It is divided in 3 ports:
The Acandia port located at southmost dock of the harbor is mainly used for domestic ferry connections and for cruise ships on peak days.
The central port is used for cruise ships and international arrivals.
The smaller port of Kolona opposite to the central port serves mainly for local, serves intra-Dodecanese traffic and large yachts.
Rhodes harbor is a hub, a homeport and the chosen destination of the biggest and most luxurious cruise ships in the world. During the summer holidays season, from May to October, the harbor can get congested with traffic. Rhodes is connected with ferry boats, hydrofoils and smaller ships with the neighboring islands of Simi, Kastelorizzo, Halki, Kos, Karpathos and Kassos. There are also ferry connections with the island of Crete (Heraklion, Sitia, Agios Nikolaos), Santorini, Samos and daily schedules with the harbor of Piraeus in Athens.
