Triantafyllos Patraskidis (1945-)

A professor at the AFSA, brings us to an different expressionistic climate, His Tailoress was highly acclaimed at the Biennale in Sao Paolo in 1983, when the total of neofauvist and neo-surrealist painters were represented there. Chromatic and surrealistic distortion of the subject give it a new substance. Both the tailoress herself and her sewing machine are transformed into a threatening complex which seems to expands continually towards the edges of the canvas.
