Afandou village is located about 20 kilometers east of
the town of Rhodes, it was founded in the days when pirates were ravaging the
Mediterranean. It is said that the village owes its name to the place where it was built.
A place that was "afanto" or invisible from the sea. In Afandou the houses are
dazzling white , their interiors decorated with dozens of Rhodian ceramics and embroideries.
During the summer, you will have the chance to witness wedding ceremonies that follow the
traditional ceremony and to join in the festivities with the locals, celebrating as only
they know how. You’ll swim off endless stretches of sandy or pebbly beach in diaphanous waters and you’ll play golf at the
course near the village.
